IHCL To Develop Goa Gateway Resort Near Colva Beach With Dempo Group

Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) has announced the signing of a new Gateway-branded resort project in South Goa near Colva Beach, strengthening its presence in one of India’s key leisure tourism markets.

The greenfield project, spread across 2.9 acres, will be developed as Gateway Resort Colva Beach Road, Goa and will feature 175 rooms with views overlooking Colva Beach.

Resort to offer multiple amenities
The upcoming resort will house multiple dining options including an all-day diner, specialty restaurant and a bar.

Guests will also have access to a swimming pool, fitness centre and treatment rooms as part of the hospitality offering.

The property will additionally feature a ballroom spanning around 7,000 square feet along with outdoor lawns, targeting weddings, social gatherings and corporate events.

Partnership with Dempo Group
IHCL said the signing reflects its continued focus on expanding its footprint across Goa, where the company has maintained a hospitality presence for over five decades.

IHCL, Executive Vice President – Real Estate and Development, Suma Venkatesh said Goa continues to remain one of India’s most sought-after leisure destinations.

She added that the company was pleased to partner with Dempo Group for the project as IHCL continues to strengthen its brand presence in the state.

Tourism potential
Dempo Group, Chairman, Shrinivas V Dempo said Goa’s scenic coastline and tourism appeal continue to attract travellers from across India and international markets.

He added that the group was happy to collaborate with IHCL for the hospitality project.

Goa remains key market
Goa continues to be among India’s leading tourism destinations, known for its beaches, heritage architecture, cuisine and cultural attractions.

With the addition of the new resort, IHCL’s portfolio in Goa will expand to 25 hotels, including seven properties currently under development.

Dempo Group diversifies across sectors
The Dempo Business House, established in 1941, is one of Goa’s prominent diversified business groups with interests spanning calcined petroleum coke production, shipbuilding, media, pig iron manufacturing, baby foods, real estate, renewable energy, travel services and mining.

The group’s business expansion was pioneered by late industrialist Vasantrao S Dempo, who was honoured with the Padma Shri for his contributions to Goan industry.
