Air India has commenced commercial operations to Ludhiana’s newly operational Halwara airport, becoming the first airline to connect the Punjab city with Delhi and global destinations through its network.
The inaugural flight from Delhi landed at Halwara airport at 7:03 am on Friday, while the return service departed from Ludhiana at 8:00 am.
Two daily flights on Delhi-Ludhiana route
Air India will operate two daily flights between Delhi and Ludhiana using its A320 family aircraft.
The airline said the new services have been scheduled to provide seamless onward international connectivity through Delhi to several overseas destinations including London, Paris, Milan, Rome and Birmingham.
Focus on seamless global connectivity
According to the airline, passengers travelling from Ludhiana will be able to access Air India’s international network through single-ticket itineraries with unified baggage allowance and through check-in facilities.
The carrier added that travellers will also benefit from same-terminal transfers at Delhi airport for domestic-to-international flight connections, helping reduce transit time and improve travel convenience.
The launch strengthens Air India’s domestic connectivity expansion strategy while improving access from Ludhiana to key international destinations through its Delhi hub.
