CW Bureau ·

Tata Motors Ltd has entered into an agreement to acquire an additional 18% stake in Freight Commerce Solutions Pvt Ltd (Freight Tiger) for an aggregate consideration of ₹95.66 crore through a secondary purchase from existing shareholders.

The acquisition has been made from existing shareholders of Freight Tiger — Lightspeed India Partners I, LLC, Florintree Infra LLP and Swapnil Shah. Following the completion of the transaction, Tata Motors’ stake in Freight Tiger will increase to 63.6%, making the company a subsidiary of Tata Motors.

Freight Tiger operates logistics software platform

Founded in 2014, Freight Tiger provides a cloud-based transportation management software platform for corporates in the logistics and transportation sector. The company reported a turnover of ₹27 crore in FY25.

Tata Motors said its connected vehicle platform ‘Fleet Edge’, along with Freight Tiger, aims to create an end-to-end digital ecosystem across the logistics value chain, covering both truck and trip management ecosystems.

Related party transaction

The company said the transaction qualifies as a related party transaction since Freight Tiger has been classified as an associate company of Tata Motors and will become a subsidiary after completion of the acquisition.

Tata Motors, however, clarified that its promoter, promoter group and group companies do not have any interest in Freight Tiger.
