Glenmark Pharma Launches Generic Vancomycin Injection In US Market

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals has announced the launch of Vancomycin Hydrochloride for Injection USP in the U.S. market, expanding its injectable portfolio amid growing demand for affordable hospital medicines.

The company said the product will be available in 500 mg/vial and 1 g/vial strengths through its U.S.-based arm, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Inc., USA.

Targets $37.9 million market opportunity
Glenmark’s Vancomycin Hydrochloride for Injection USP is bioequivalent and therapeutically equivalent to the reference listed drug of Fresenius Kabi, according to the company.

As per IQVIA sales data for the 12-month period ending March 2026, the Vancomycin Hydrochloride for Injection USP market in the U.S. recorded annual sales of around $37.9 million.

Strengthens injectable portfolio
Commenting on the launch, President & Business Head, North America Marc Kikuchi said the launch reflects Glenmark’s continued focus on improving access to affordable medicines in the U.S.

He added that the product launch further strengthens the company’s injectable portfolio and reinforces its commitment to delivering reliable treatment options for healthcare providers and patients.

Focus on US generics business
The latest launch comes as Glenmark continues to expand its presence in the U.S. generics market through a mix of oral solids, injectables and specialty products.

The company has been sharpening its focus on complex generics and hospital-focused therapies as competition intensifies in the global pharmaceutical sector.
