A delegation from The Madras Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI), led by President Ramkumar Shankar, met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay at the Secretariat in Chennai on Monday to discuss Tamil Nadu’s long-term economic growth strategy and investment outlook.
The MCCI delegation also included Vice President A. Viswanathan and Secretary General K. Saraswathi.
Focus on infrastructure, investments and ease of doing business
The discussions centred on strengthening critical infrastructure, enhancing investment opportunities, improving ease of doing business, and further positioning Tamil Nadu as a preferred global destination for investment, innovation, and industrial growth.
During the meeting, Ramkumar Shankar highlighted several recent studies and white papers released by MCCI focused on Tamil Nadu’s economic development and industrial growth. He reiterated the Chamber’s commitment to working closely with the Government of Tamil Nadu to support the State’s social and economic progress.
The delegation also submitted a detailed set of recommendations and policy suggestions aimed at accelerating Tamil Nadu’s development across key sectors.
Chief Minister appreciates Chamber’s recommendations
Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay appreciated the Chamber’s recommendations and acknowledged the role played by MCCI in supporting the socio-economic development of Tamil Nadu.
He also expressed willingness to continue engaging with the Chamber on initiatives focused on improving the State’s competitiveness and driving future growth.
