Musashi India Pvt Ltd, an automotive components and EV systems manufacturer and subsidiary of Japan’s Musashi Seimitsu Industry Co Ltd, has entered into a Letter of Intent with Kinetic Green Energy and Power Solutions Ltd to supply integrated electric powertrain systems for the latter’s upcoming electric two-wheeler platform.

Under the agreement, Musashi India will supply side-mounted e-Axle systems comprising a motor, gearbox and controller for Kinetic Green’s electric two-wheelers.

Pilot supplies to begin in 2026

Pilot batch supplies are scheduled to commence from December 2026, followed by start of commercial production at Musashi Delta e-Axle India’s Bengaluru facility.

The powertrain system will use a 4.7-kW Interior Permanent Magnet (IPM) motor integrated with a gearbox in a side-mounted e-Axle configuration.

According to the companies, the side-mounted architecture is expected to provide additional luggage space compared with centre-mounted systems.

Focus on electric mobility transition

Musashi India & Africa Region CEO Naoya Nishimura said the partnership marks an important milestone in supporting India’s transition towards electric mobility.

“Our integrated powertrain solution reflects Musashi’s focus on innovation, efficiency and reliability,” he said.

Long-term technology partnership

Kinetic Green Founder & CEO Sulajja Firodia Motwani said the collaboration would help make world-class powertrain technology accessible to Indian consumers without compromising on performance, reliability or value.

The companies said the collaboration is intended to evolve into a long-term partnership with future phases expected to include additional technologies for upcoming vehicle platforms.

Expanding EV focus

Musashi India develops and manufactures automotive components and is also engaged in EV systems, automation and energy solutions.

Kinetic Green manufactures electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers, golf carts and lifestyle mobility vehicles. The company recently raised $25 million from Greater Pacific Capital.
