National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), the world’s first dedicated forensic science university and an institution of national importance under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, has invited applications for admissions to its undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma programmes for the academic year 2026-27 at its Chennai campus.
The university offers specialised programmes aimed at building careers in forensic science, cybersecurity, criminology and crime scene investigation. NFSU currently operates 16 campuses across India, including the Chennai campus. The last date for registration is June 10, 2026.
Flagship programmes open for admissions
Among the flagship programmes being offered at the Chennai campus are M.Sc. Forensic Science, M.Sc. Cyber Security, B.Sc. Criminology and Forensic Science, and the Postgraduate Professional Diploma in Crime Scene Management.
The M.Sc. Forensic Science programme is open to graduates in Science, Forensic Science, Medicine, Engineering, Pharmacy, Dentistry and AYUSH disciplines with a minimum of 55 per cent marks for General, OBC (NCL) and EWS category candidates, while SC/ST/PwD candidates require a minimum of 50 per cent marks.
The M.Sc. Cyber Security programme is designed for graduates from Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, BCA and related disciplines from recognised universities with at least 55% marks, while SC/ST/PwD candidates require a minimum of 50% marks.
For admission to the B.Sc. Criminology and Forensic Science programme, students must have completed 10+2 in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics, securing at least 55 per cent marks for General/OBC/EWS candidates and 50 per cent or equivalent marks for SC/ST and PwD candidates.
Focus on national security and justice systems
NFSU said the Chennai campus is focused on strengthening justice delivery systems and national security through advanced training, research initiatives and community outreach programmes.
The university offers students access to modern laboratories, specialised research facilities and expert faculty comprising academicians, practitioners and industry professionals.
