Adani Skills & Education, Gujarat Govt. Ink Pacts To Revamp 11 ITIs In Kutch

CW Bureau ·

In a significant move aimed at bridging the industry-academia gap, Adani Skills & Education (ASE) formalised two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the Government of Gujarat.

The partnerships seek to comprehensively transform 11 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across the Kutch region through industry-linked skilling and employment-focused training frameworks.

To stem migration and provide jobs

The MoUs were formally exchanged during ‘Karma Utsav’, a flagship platform organised by ASE in Bhuj. Designed as a strategic intervention, the initiative aims to equip local youth with the technical competencies and industry exposure required to partake in the region’s next phase of economic growth.

Beyond immediate employment, the project is envisioned to stem talent migration and fortify the local workforce ecosystem.

Scaling up grassroots skill infrastructure

The event saw a turnout of over 650 stakeholders, including students, educators, policymakers, and industry veterans, underscoring the critical relevance of industry-integrated vocational training in contemporary regional development.

Under the newly forged alliance, the transformation roadmap will target core areas such as curriculum modernization, infrastructure upgrading, faculty development, and enhanced practical exposure.

On the job training, robust placement

Further, the collaboration mandates structured on-the-job training and robust placement support to tightly align technical education with evolving market demands.

By upgrading these state-run institutes, the initiative expects to create a sustainable pipeline of job-ready personnel capable of meeting global industrial standards.

A blueprint for self-reliant youth

State Cabinet Minister for Skill Development & Employment Kunwarjibhai Bavaliya, reiterated the state’s commitment to fostering a self-reliant workforce through targeted interventions.

“Our primary objective is to deliver global-standard technical training to our youth, ensuring self-reliance under the broader ambit of the Skill India mission. A skilled youth demographic remains the cornerstone of national prosperity,” he said.

The 10-point transformation matrix conceptualised by ASE for these ITIs is now being referred to as “Gujarat Model” in other states across the country.
