Zoom Communications has unveiled ZoomMate, an agentic AI work surface designed to help organisations move seamlessly from workplace conversations to execution by connecting discussions, decisions and workflows within a single environment.
The launch marks a major step in Zoom’s broader “system of action” vision announced earlier this year, aimed at transforming meetings and communications into actionable business outcomes.
Connecting conversations with execution
ZoomMate is designed to bridge the gap between discussions and follow-through by linking live conversational context with agentic search, workflow execution, custom AI agents and content creation capabilities.
The platform enables users to access information across Zoom and connected business systems, generate deliverables from meeting insights and enterprise data, and coordinate next steps across workflows without switching between multiple applications.
According to Zoom, the solution addresses a common workplace challenge where information and decisions become fragmented across tools, resulting in delays and inefficiencies in execution.
Built on Zoom’s system of action vision
The company said ZoomMate represents an evolution from traditional AI assistants by leveraging the unique position Zoom occupies within organisations—at the centre of business conversations where critical decisions are made.
By capturing context before, during and after meetings, ZoomMate is designed to connect decisions with actions and help teams maintain momentum across projects and workflows.
Zoom Communications Chief Product Officer Russell Dicker said, “What drew me to Zoom was a simple truth: no other company sits where Zoom sits, at the centre of every conversation where work decisions get made. ZoomMate is built on this insight. Before, during, and after the meeting, ZoomMate connects what was decided to what needs to happen next across every system where your work lives.”
Moving beyond standalone AI assistants
Industry analysts believe the market is increasingly shifting toward AI tools capable of integrating decisions, workflows and enterprise data rather than functioning as isolated assistants.
ZoomMate seeks to differentiate itself by operating directly within workplace conversations, allowing it to access real-time business context that can improve the relevance and accuracy of recommendations.
Moor Insights & Strategy Vice President and Principal Analyst Melody Brue said, “The market is moving away from isolated AI helpers and toward tools that can better connect decisions, data, and workflows across an organization. Many AI offerings operate on the edges of work, with limited access to the real-time context affecting decisions. ZoomMate approaches this differently because it sits inside the conversations where those decisions unfold. This can give it live business context and help make its recommendations more grounded in the work that teams are actually doing.”
AI-powered workplace productivity
With ZoomMate, the company is positioning itself beyond video communications and collaboration tools, expanding into AI-powered workflow orchestration and enterprise productivity.
The launch underscores Zoom’s strategy of embedding agentic AI into the flow of work, helping organisations transform meetings and conversations into actionable outcomes while reducing the friction associated with fragmented systems and disconnected workflows.
