Renault India has announced that the new Duster Turbo TCe 100 has achieved an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 19.41 km/l, reinforcing the SUV’s positioning as a blend of performance and fuel economy.
The company said the fuel-efficiency certification highlights the capabilities of the Duster’s turbocharged petrol powertrain, which has been engineered to offer responsive performance while maintaining low fuel consumption.
Focus on efficiency and performance
The Duster Turbo TCe 100 is powered by a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 100 PS of power and 160 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission designed to deliver smooth drivability and enhanced efficiency across varied driving conditions.
According to Renault, the turbocharged powertrain combines responsive acceleration with fuel-saving technologies, making it suitable for both urban commuting and long-distance travel.
Built on new platform
The SUV is built on Renault Group’s all-new RGMP platform, with the engine and powertrain specifically engineered and calibrated to complement the architecture’s dynamics.
The company said the Turbo TCe 100 powertrain is exclusive to the Duster and has been comprehensively tuned to maximise the benefits of the new platform, resulting in improved driving performance and efficiency.
Engineering aimed at customer value
Renault Group India, Chief of Renault Engineering, Dr. V. Vikraman, said, “The ARAI-certified fuel efficiency reflects Renault’s focus on practical engineering and customer value. The Turbo TCe 100 engine uses turbocharging and efficient combustion to deliver responsive performance with strong fuel economy. With the 6-speed manual transmission, the powertrain provides a balanced and efficient driving experience.”
The announcement comes as automakers increasingly focus on improving fuel efficiency and reducing running costs while maintaining performance standards in the highly competitive SUV segment.
