Vietnamese EV maker VinFast, through its ride-hailing arm Green SM has launched its all-electric taxi service in India. Green SM will operate its fully electric taxi service, Green SM Limo, in Delhi NCR, marking its fifth international expansion after Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia and the Philippines.
The launch strengthens the company’s global footprint and brings its all-electric ride-hailing model to one of the world’s largest mobility markets.
Delhi NCR marks first phase of rollout
Green SM said it will initially deploy its services across key locations in the Delhi National Capital Region and gradually expand coverage based on customer demand.
The company’s India operations are centred around the Green SM Limo service, which utilizes the VinFast Limo Green, a seven-seater electric SUV developed specifically for passenger transportation services.
The vehicle is designed to cater to multiple use cases, including daily commuting, airport transfers, family travel and business transportation.
Betting on India’s green mobility opportunity
The launch coincided with World Environment Day, underscoring the company’s focus on sustainable urban mobility.
Green SM said it aims to provide Indian consumers with a safe, reliable and high-quality mobility alternative while creating employment opportunities and career development prospects for local drivers.
The company also plans to work with local partners and communities to promote environmentally friendly transportation solutions and support India’s sustainability ambitions.
Focus on passenger safety and service quality
Green SM Limo vehicles are equipped with amenities such as drinking water and wet tissues, while the company’s Secure-to-Safe system incorporates interior and exterior cameras, AI-powered monitoring technologies and emergency support buttons for both passengers and drivers.
The company said its drivers undergo training in electric vehicle operations, road safety and customer service to ensure consistent service standards.
Green SM’s “Ride 5 Star” commitment is built around vehicle quality, safety standards, driver professionalism and customer experience.
Launch offer for customers
To mark its India debut, Green SM is offering customers a promotional discount of 50%, up to ₹250, on rides booked through its mobile application between June 5 and June 11.
Customers can book rides through the Green SM app, available on Android and iOS platforms, contact the company’s hotline or hail vehicles directly in operational areas.
Green Alliance expands in India
Alongside the launch, Green SM onboarded five Indian partners from the mobility, travel, technology and services sectors into its Green Alliance Frontier initiative.
The global platform brings together businesses focused on sustainable development, fostering collaboration, innovation and green transformation across markets.
