Hangyo Ice Creams has inaugurated a new ₹100-crore manufacturing facility at Tirupati, strengthening its production capabilities and expanding its footprint in southern India.

The state-of-the-art plant has the capacity to produce 100,000 litres of ice creams and frozen desserts per day and is equipped with advanced automated production systems, modern cold-chain and storage infrastructure, stringent quality-control mechanisms, and energy-efficient operations.

Founded in 1997 in Mangaluru by the Pai brothers, Hangyo manufactures a wide range of ice creams, kulfis, softees and dairy products. The company now operates three manufacturing facilities located in Udupi, Uttara Kannada and Tirupati.

Expansion and growth plans

The new facility has been designed with scalable production capabilities to support the company’s future growth plans. Hangyo currently serves customers through a distribution network comprising over 45,000 retail outlets and 450 distributors across multiple States.

The company said the Tirupati unit reflects its focus on innovation, quality and operational excellence while enabling it to meet rising demand in existing and new markets.

“The new facility stands as a testament to the brand’s vision of continuous innovation, uncompromising quality and delivering joyful experiences to consumers across generations,” said Founder and Executive Chairman Dinesh R. Pai.

Focus on sustainability and employment

Hangyo said the facility incorporates sustainable and energy-efficient practices and reaffirms its commitment to responsible growth, customer satisfaction and community engagement.

The company expects the plant to generate direct employment for around 300 people and indirect employment opportunities for nearly 1,000 individuals in the region.

According to the company, the Tirupati facility represents both an industrial milestone and a reflection of Hangyo’s long-term vision of building consumer trust through quality products and consistent service.
