Tata Consultancy Services has signed a multiyear transformation and managed services agreement with Canada Life to modernise the insurer’s IT infrastructure services across its European businesses.
Under the agreement, TCS will leverage its artificial intelligence and digital capabilities to modernise and manage Canada Life’s data centres, core infrastructure, end-user computing and software lifecycle management, helping the insurer strengthen its technology backbone and improve service delivery.
Modernising core technology
The partnership is aimed at enhancing operational resilience, increasing automation and improving user experience for customers. By combining TCS’ technology expertise with Canada Life’s business knowledge and operational experience, the two companies plan to establish a strong foundation for the insurer’s long-term technology modernisation roadmap.
The programme is also expected to deliver high-quality, cost-effective and performance-driven IT services while supporting Canada Life’s broader technology strategy and business objectives.
Focus on efficiency and agility
According to the companies, the collaboration will help Canada Life scale its technology services more effectively and respond more quickly to changing business requirements.
Canada Life, Chief Information & Transformation Officer, Europe, Caroline Dibbs, said the agreement represents the next phase of the company’s technology modernisation journey.
“Working with TCS marks the next stage of our journey to modernise the technology foundations that underpin our business, and it was important to choose a partner that understands our long-term vision and shares our commitment to people and innovation.
“TCS brings deep technical expertise, strong transformation capabilities and a collaborative approach that aligns well with our strategy. Together, we will deliver lasting improvements to the technology services and capabilities that support our business and the people who depend on it,” she said.
Strengthening BFSI presence
Tata Consultancy Services, Head, UK & Ireland, Vinay Singhvi, said the partnership highlights the company’s leadership in AI-led transformation and strengthens its position in the insurance technology space.
“We are delighted to be selected as the strategic partner for Canada Life’s technology modernisation journey across the UK and Europe. This co-operation is a testament to our leadership in AI-led transformation, marking a significant step on our journey to becoming the world’s largest AI-led technology services company.
“By leveraging our deep domain expertise, we will help Canada Life achieve greater operational efficiency, enhance resilience, and create a more agile, responsive IT ecosystem to support their long-term growth,” he said.
Talent expansion plans
As part of the engagement, TCS will expand its infrastructure services talent base across the UK, Ireland, the Isle of Man and Germany. The company plans to invest in learning, certification and career development programmes to support the growing demand for advanced infrastructure and transformation services.
The agreement further strengthens TCS’ position as a preferred digital transformation partner for the banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) sector, while reinforcing its continued expansion in the UK and Ireland as a strategic hub for delivering end-to-end technology services to insurance clients across the region.
