Hindustan Zinc Ltd, a Vedanta Group company and the world’s largest integrated zinc producer, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sulfozyme Agro India Pvt Ltd to establish operations at its Zinc Industrial Park in Rajasthan, further strengthening the downstream zinc ecosystem in the country.
The partnership is aimed at promoting sustainable metal recovery, resource efficiency and value-added manufacturing, while supporting the growth of downstream zinc industries and MSMEs.
Sulfozyme Agro to set up operations at Zinc Park
Under the agreement, Sulfozyme Agro will establish its proposed operations at the Zinc Industrial Park located at Khankhala in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district. The facility will focus on processing zinc-based materials into value-added products for industrial and downstream applications.
Hindustan Zinc will provide assured raw material linkages and long-term ecosystem support to facilitate efficient operations, integrated supply chains and scalable manufacturing within the industrial park.
Focus on downstream value addition
The collaboration forms part of Hindustan Zinc’s broader strategy to strengthen India’s downstream zinc sector and create new opportunities for local entrepreneurship and industrial development.
The Zinc Industrial Park was first announced by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma alongside Vedanta Group Chairman Anil Agarwal during the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit in December 2024. The project is being developed through phased partnerships and strategic collaborations aimed at positioning Rajasthan as a manufacturing hub for zinc-based industries.
Dedicated manufacturing ecosystem
Developed in collaboration with RIICO, the Zinc Industrial Park is envisioned as a dedicated downstream manufacturing hub that combines raw material availability with value-added zinc production.
The park offers ready-to-use infrastructure, proximity to raw material sources and an industry-focused ecosystem designed to attract zinc processors, customers, MSMEs and downstream manufacturers looking for scalable production opportunities.
