Maruti Suzuki India has introduced the Smart Maintenance Plan (SMP), a flexible prepaid after-sales service programme aimed at providing customers with a hassle-free and cost-effective vehicle ownership experience.
The new offering is designed to give vehicle owners greater flexibility in managing maintenance expenses while protecting them from future increases in service costs.
Flexible plans for diverse customer needs
The Smart Maintenance Plan is available to all Maruti Suzuki customers, including private vehicle owners and commercial vehicle operators.
Customers can opt for the plan either at the time of purchasing a vehicle or later during a visit to any authorised Maruti Suzuki workshop for periodic maintenance.
The company has introduced multiple service configurations under SMP, allowing customers to select plans based on their individual usage patterns and maintenance requirements.
Wide range of coverage options
The plan includes several service categories such as labour-only packages, parts-and-labour coverage, commercial vehicle minor services, customer-demanded services, and coverage for engine oil and coolants.
To further enhance customer convenience, Maruti Suzuki is also offering optional wear-and-tear coverage for select components, including clutch and brake parts.
The company said the customised structure enables customers to tailor maintenance packages according to their driving needs and vehicle usage.
Savings and inflation protection
One of the key benefits of SMP is cost savings. Customers subscribing to the plan can save a minimum of 10% on labour charges, along with additional savings on parts and consumables covered under the selected package.
The prepaid model also protects customers against future inflation in service costs for covered maintenance activities, helping them lock in expenses for the duration of the plan.
Long-term ownership support
Maruti Suzuki has introduced multiple tenure and mileage options under SMP to cater to varying ownership cycles.
For private vehicles, plans range from 2 years/20,000 kilometres to as long as 10 years/100,000 kilometres. Commercial vehicle owners can opt for coverage extending up to 10 years or 160,000 kilometres.
The company said the long-duration options are intended to offer customers greater predictability in maintenance costs over the life of the vehicle.
Pan-India service access
A key feature of the programme is its nationwide applicability. Customers can avail services under SMP at any Maruti Suzuki authorised dealer workshop across India, irrespective of where the plan was originally purchased.
This provides greater convenience for customers who relocate or frequently travel across different parts of the country.
