Wipro, a leading AI-powered technology services and consulting company, has launched an Applied AI Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Claude models powered by Anthropic, strengthening its capabilities to help enterprises accelerate AI adoption at scale.

The CoE was inaugurated at Wipro’s innovation hub in Bengaluru and forms a key part of the company’s newly established AI-native Business and Platforms Unit. The initiative is aimed at integrating advanced AI capabilities into enterprise workflows and enabling clients to unlock measurable business outcomes.

Strengthening enterprise AI adoption
The new CoE will leverage Claude models across the Wipro Intelligence stack, including delivery, functional and industry-specific platforms, to embed AI into core business processes across sectors.

The company said the initiative enhances its ability to scale enterprise AI deployments while helping organisations integrate AI into mission-critical operations.

Building a global pool of AI specialists
As part of its AI strategy, Wipro has been developing a global network of Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) trained on Claude models.

These engineers work directly within client environments, combining deep understanding of enterprise technology landscapes and business processes with expertise in AI model behaviour and deployment.

The approach is designed to accelerate AI integration into business workflows and deliver measurable outcomes, reflecting Wipro’s focus on practical implementation and business value creation.

Focus on industry-specific AI solutions
The Applied AI CoE will also serve as a hub for developing AI-native platforms and industry solutions across sectors including mortgage, healthcare, airlines, manufacturing and consumer businesses.

By embedding Claude models into its platforms, Wipro aims to co-innovate with clients in live business environments while driving wider adoption of AI technologies.

10,000 experts to be trained
A key component of the initiative is Wipro’s plan to certify 10,000 frontline delivery professionals on the use of Claude models over the next 18 months.

The certification programme is intended to create a large pool of practitioners capable of designing, deploying and managing AI-enabled systems within complex enterprise environments.

Advancing AI-native enterprise strategy
Wipro Ltd Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Srini Pallia said, “Wipro is strengthening its enterprise AI leadership with the Applied AI Centre of Excellence for Claude models, powered by Anthropic. This marks a fundamental shift in how we deliver and advances our strategy of being consulting-led and AI-powered.”

He added that combining Claude’s capabilities with Wipro’s industry expertise and embedded delivery model will help accelerate enterprise-scale AI adoption while driving measurable business outcomes for clients.

According to the company, the CoE represents another milestone in its journey towards becoming an AI-native enterprise by bringing together platform integration, AI expertise and embedded delivery capabilities to help organisations realise the full value of artificial intelligence.
