Electric vehicle maker Tesla has strengthened its India presence with the opening of its fifth Experience Centre in Hyderabad’s HITEC City, while also introducing the new 2026 Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive and Model Y L for Indian customers.
The new Experience Centre, located in Knowledge City, Madhapur, will allow customers to explore Tesla’s latest electric vehicles through guided walkarounds and immersive product demonstrations. Visitors can gain insights into the company’s design philosophy, electric vehicle technology, safety systems and performance capabilities in an interactive environment.
Hyderabad expansion strengthens customer reach
Alongside the new Experience Centre, Tesla has commenced delivery and after-sales services from its facility in the Bollaram Industrial Area, aimed at supporting customers across Telangana and enhancing the ownership experience.
The Hyderabad outlet becomes Tesla’s fifth Experience Centre in India, joining its existing locations in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi and Gurugram.
Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive targets premium EV buyers
Tesla said the 2026 Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive offers up to 2,138 litres of storage space and seating for five passengers. The SUV accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and delivers a WLTP-certified range of up to 500 km.
Priced at ₹50.89 lakh, the vehicle is available with a down payment starting at ₹6 lakh and monthly EMI options from ₹39,990. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in July 2026.
Model Y L focuses on family mobility
The newly showcased Model Y L has been positioned as a family-focused all-wheel-drive SUV featuring a three-row, six-seat configuration. Tesla said the vehicle offers a WLTP-certified range of up to 681 km, accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5 seconds and provides cargo space of up to 2,539 litres.
The Model Y L is priced from ₹61.99 lakh, with financing options starting at a ₹6.5 lakh down payment and monthly EMIs from ₹49,990.
Safety and charging ecosystem
According to Tesla, both Model Y variants have secured top safety ratings from leading global safety organisations, including NHTSA, IIHS, Euro NCAP, ANCAP and C-IASI. The company said the vehicles set new benchmarks in safety, efficiency, performance and advanced technology.
Tesla added that both models are available for ordering through its official website and are supported by home-charging solutions across India. Customers placing orders before June 30, 2026, will receive a complimentary Wall Connector.
