Tiger Logistics (India) Ltd has secured a new import break bulk logistics mandate from Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd, further strengthening its long-standing relationship with one of India’s largest public sector engineering enterprises.
The project involves the transportation of 13 over-dimensional cargo (ODC) units, each weighing 89 metric tonnes, from Italy to India. The contract carries a total value of approximately ₹4 crore, including handling charges.
Project scope
Under the mandate, Tiger Logistics will manage the import and movement of heavy industrial equipment through specialised break bulk logistics operations.
The company said the project reinforces the confidence placed by BHEL in its capabilities to execute complex project logistics assignments involving heavy-lift and over-dimensional cargo.
As part of projects awarded by BHEL during the previous financial year, Tiger Logistics currently has multiple orders under execution. The company has already completed the delivery of 28 machine components in line with project specifications and timelines.
Long-standing partnership
Tiger Logistics has been supporting BHEL across a broad range of logistics services, including customs clearance, warehousing, transportation, full container load (FCL) and less-than-container load (LCL) exports and imports, air freight, break bulk cargo handling and ODC transportation.
The company said its customised logistics solutions have helped address BHEL’s complex supply chain requirements across multiple geographies.
