HCLTech has been selected as a strategic partner by Neste, the world’s leading producer of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and renewable diesel, as part of the energy company’s ongoing business transformation and performance improvement programme.

The partnership forms a key component of Neste’s company-wide initiative aimed at making its operations stronger, sharpening its strategic focus and preparing the company for future growth in its core renewables business.

Under the agreement, HCLTech will support IT service consolidation across the organisation, enhance operational efficiency and help build an agile and scalable technology ecosystem. The collaboration will also enable Neste to leverage HCLTech’s global scale and technical expertise in areas closely aligned with its core business operations.

Supporting operational efficiency
Neste said the partnership aligns with its efforts to simplify its IT landscape while strengthening critical technology capabilities.

“As part of our ongoing efforts to improve performance and simplify our IT landscape, this partnership plays a key role in strengthening our core IT capabilities,” said Neste, CFO, Eeva Sipila.

“Our initial priority is to drive efficiency and maintain business continuity. We look forward to building a solid foundation and a long-term collaboration to deliver Neste’s business goals,” she added.

Focus on technology transformation
HCLTech said the engagement will help strengthen Neste’s IT service delivery framework while supporting a more efficient operating model amid evolving requirements in the global energy sector.

“This partnership is an important step in strengthening Neste’s IT service delivery and supporting a more efficient operating model with the changing needs of the global energy sector,” said HCLTech, Chief Growth Officer, Energy and Manufacturing, Ajay Bahl.

“We look forward to working closely with Neste to ensure a smooth transition and deliver reliable, high-quality services that support business operational excellence and Neste’s strategic goals,” he added.

Growing renewable energy business
Headquartered in Finland, Neste is the world’s largest producer of renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel, with production facilities spanning three continents.

The company expects its renewables production capacity to reach 6.8 million tonnes annually by 2027. In addition to renewable fuels, Neste operates the Porvoo refinery in Finland and manages a network of nearly 1,000 fuel stations across Finland and the Baltic region.

Neste’s strategy is centred on expanding its renewable fuels business to help customers reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The company reported revenue of €19 billion in 2025.
