Ampere, the electric two-wheeler brand of Greaves Electric Mobility (GEML), has announced that it has crossed the milestone of manufacturing and selling 4 lakh electric scooters in India.
The achievement underscores Ampere’s growing presence in India’s mass electric mobility segment and reflects its evolution from an early EV pioneer to a high-growth brand focused on affordable and accessible electric mobility solutions.
Strong growth momentum
Ampere recorded a 51% year-on-year growth in FY26, with its market share increasing from 3.6% in FY25 to 4.4% in FY26, reinforcing its position among the leading players in India’s electric two-wheeler market.
The company said its growth has been driven by products engineered for Indian roads, weather conditions and diverse terrains, with a strong focus on durability, safety and lower total cost of ownership compared with internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.
Ampere’s electric scooters are built on a 100% LFP battery platform, offering enhanced safety, thermal stability and a lifecycle of up to around 200,000 kilometres.
Customer trust driving adoption
Greaves Electric Mobility, Managing Director, Vikas Singh said, “Crossing the 4-lakh milestone reflects growing customer trust in Ampere and validates our focus on delivering dependable, value-driven electric mobility in the sub-₹1 lakh segment.”
“As fuel costs rise, customers are increasingly seeking practical alternatives for everyday mobility. Our focus is to make this transition simple and dependable. We believe the next phase of EV growth in India will be driven by practical, mass-market solutions, and Ampere is well positioned to lead this transition,” he added.
Award-winning portfolio
Ampere Nexus, which was named ‘Electric Scooter of the Year 2025’, has strengthened the brand’s credentials through performance achievements, including the Kolli Hills 70-hairpin-bend climb and a ride to Shipki La Pass at an altitude of 13,200 feet.
The company’s other products have also received industry recognition. Magnus Grand won the ‘Electric Scooter of the Year 2026’ title, while Magnus G-Max was named ‘Family Scooter of the Year 2026’.
According to the company, these recognitions have helped make Ampere scooters a preferred choice among first-time EV buyers, families and daily commuters, accelerating the shift from ICE vehicles to electric mobility.
Network expansion
The 4 lakh milestone includes slow-speed electric vehicles that are not captured in VAHAN data.
Supporting its growth, Ampere expanded its dealer, retail and service network during FY26. The company strengthened its dealer network by 12% compared with FY25, while also revamping existing showrooms and implementing network initiatives aimed at improving dealer productivity and customer experience.
Today, Ampere has established a strong retail presence across metropolitan cities as well as emerging EV markets.
Looking ahead, the company plans to further strengthen its portfolio with differentiated technologies and expand its 100% LFP-based product range, focusing on safety, thermal stability, lifecycle performance and low total cost of ownership.
The company said this approach positions Ampere to drive mainstream EV adoption across Bharat.
