LMW Business Transformation Aimed At Boosting Global Competitiveness

CW Bureau ·

LMW Ltd is accelerating its transformation into a comprehensive engineering solutions partner by deepening customer collaboration, embracing artificial intelligence (AI) across its operations and products, and undertaking a company-wide business process reengineering (BPR) programme to enhance agility and operational efficiency.

In his message to shareholders in the company’s Annual Report 2026, Chairman & Managing Director Sanjay Jayavarthanavelu said LMW is evolving beyond its traditional role as a machinery manufacturer as customers increasingly seek integrated engineering solutions for complex materials and applications.

Expanding beyond machinery manufacturing
Jayavarthanavelu said the growing complexity of raw materials and manufacturing applications, particularly with customers adopting newer inputs, requires closer collaboration to optimise operating parameters and achieve desired outcomes.

To address these evolving requirements, LMW is strengthening its technical engagements and deepening customer integration, enabling clients to maximise the capabilities of next-generation technologies.

Business process reengineering to drive efficiency
To support its strategic priorities, the company is implementing a comprehensive Business Process Reengineering (BPR) programme across the organisation.

The initiative aims to fundamentally redesign core business processes to improve performance, streamline workflows, eliminate redundancies and strengthen execution discipline.

According to Jayavarthanavelu, the transformation is intended to create a more agile, responsive and future-ready organisation capable of adapting to changing market demands.

AI at the heart of transformation
Technology forms the cornerstone of LMW’s transformation strategy, with the company expanding its understanding and responsible adoption of artificial intelligence across its operations.

At the same time, AI is being integrated into the company’s products and services to enhance intelligence, improve performance and strengthen the overall value proposition for customers.

Recalibrating strategy amid global uncertainty
Jayavarthanavelu noted that geopolitical developments and economic uncertainty are reshaping global competitive dynamics, making uncertainty a defining feature of the international business environment.

He said these interconnected developments require companies to reassess traditional globalisation strategies, prompting LMW to actively recalibrate its global approach to remain resilient, relevant and well-positioned to capitalise on emerging opportunities.

India offers strong long-term growth opportunities
Despite global challenges, Jayavarthanavelu expressed confidence in India’s growth prospects, citing the country’s strong economic momentum and policy support for manufacturing.

He said the government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, continued strengthening of domestic manufacturing capabilities, expanding global supply chain diversification and free trade agreements with key trading partners are reinforcing India’s position as a competitive and reliable global manufacturing hub.

These structural trends, he added, are creating significant growth opportunities across industries, and LMW is proactively aligning its strategies to leverage them and deliver long-term value creation for stakeholders.
