Ashok Leyland Ltd, the flagship company of the Hinduja Group, has launched India’s first range of commercial trucks equipped with air suspension technology, introducing three new heavy-duty models designed to offer higher payload capacity, improved ride comfort and better operating efficiency.

The company unveiled the AVTR 4925 10×2 MAV, AVTR 4625 10×2 MAV and AVTR 4525 8×2 MAV, further strengthening its position as a technology pioneer in India’s commercial vehicle industry.

Three industry-first truck models
The new range comprises the AVTR 4925 10×2 MAV, India’s first 49-tonne truck with air suspension offering a 1.5-tonne payload advantage; the AVTR 4625 10×2 MAV, India’s first 46-tonne air suspension truck with a 4-tonne payload advantage; and the AVTR 4525 8×2 MAV, India’s first 45-tonne truck in the segment to offer a 4-tonne payload advantage.

Ashok Leyland said the trucks have been engineered to deliver best-in-class productivity with only a nominal increase in initial investment, enabling customers to maximise revenue potential while benefiting from one of the industry’s best total cost of ownership propositions.

Air suspension enhances performance and ownership economics
According to the company, the air suspension system significantly improves vehicle stability under fully laden conditions while reducing vibrations and road shocks. The technology also delivers superior ride comfort, particularly on uneven roads, improves tyre life and features a maintenance-free rear suspension system that eliminates the need for greasing.

Together, these benefits improve load handling, operating efficiency and overall ownership economics, helping fleet operators enhance productivity and profitability.

Designed for diverse operating requirements
The new truck range is available in both cowl and cabin variants with multiple loading span options to cater to different customer requirements.

All three models come equipped with iVAC (Intelligent Vehicle Acceleration Control) and ATC (Automatic Traction Control) as standard features, helping improve fuel efficiency while delivering better traction across varying operating conditions.

Company reinforces technology leadership
Ashok Leyland Managing Director & CEO Shenu Agarwal, said, “Ashok Leyland has always been a technology leader in the Indian CV industry. Since our inception we have been known for introducing technology solutions that create meaningful value for customers. With the launch of the new Air Suspension technology in trucks, we are reinforcing that position. Ashok Leyland President, MHCV, Sanjeev Kumar, added, “Customers today are looking for vehicles that provide better efficiency, reliability, and value throughout their operations.
