EV mobility platform Bijliride has launched Project Udaan, an integrated gig economy platform that enables delivery partners to directly discover and apply for jobs with leading quick commerce, food delivery and hyperlocal companies, while eliminating the need for third-party manpower vendors.
The initiative transforms Bijliride’s app from a standalone electric vehicle rental platform into a comprehensive ecosystem that connects riders with employment opportunities across brands including Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, Tata 1mg, Rebel Foods, BigBasket and Apollo 24/7.
Direct access to gig opportunities
With Project Udaan, delivery partners can onboard directly with participating companies through the Bijliride platform, removing dependence on intermediaries for recruitment and job allocation.
The platform also offers a zero-commission earning model, allowing riders to retain 100% of the income displayed on their dashboards.
By consolidating delivery opportunities from multiple brands into a single application, Bijliride aims to simplify operations for riders, reduce downtime between deliveries and improve utilisation of their working hours.
According to the company, early operational data indicates that the streamlined workflow could improve rider productivity and income predictability by 15% to 20% through more stable daily order volumes.
Simplifying last-mile operations
Project Udaan also seeks to address operational challenges faced by delivery platforms by providing a ready-to-deploy and compliant rider ecosystem.
The platform manages end-to-end onboarding, including Aadhaar-based digital KYC and bank account verification, enabling riders to complete registration within minutes.
Bijliride said this aggregated infrastructure gives delivery companies quicker access to a verified rider network, helping reduce last-mile delivery bottlenecks, improve fleet availability and lower delivery turnaround times.

Expansion roadmap
Bijliride said Project Udaan is the first deployment of its kind in India and is designed as an operating system for the country’s last-mile delivery workforce.
Going forward, the company plans to integrate advanced capabilities such as intelligent demand mapping, personalised work recommendations, financial services and enhanced battery management support to further improve rider earnings while enabling more sustainable urban logistics.
