BYD India has revised the prices of select electric passenger vehicle variants by between ₹50,000 and ₹1,00,000, effective July 1, 2026, citing rising input costs, inflationary pressures and continued investments in technology and network expansion.
The price revision applies to select variants of the BYD ATTO 3, BYD SEALION 7 and BYD SEAL. However, prices of certain BYD ATTO 3 variants and the BYD eMAX 7 remain unchanged.
New eMAX 7 variants introduced
Alongside the price revision, BYD India has expanded its MPV portfolio with the introduction of new BYD eMAX 7 Comfort variants, priced from ₹27.90 lakh.
The newly introduced variants feature a larger 71.8 kWh battery pack as part of an updated product lineup designed for Indian customers.
Company cites rising costs and investments
According to the company, the price increase reflects higher input costs, persistent inflationary pressures and ongoing investments in expanding its dealership network and introducing advanced technologies.
BYD India, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles (EPV) Business, Rajeev Chauhan, said, “BYD India has witnessed an encouraging customer response across its electric passenger vehicle portfolio. As we continue to invest in technology, customer experience, and network expansion, we have implemented a price revision on a few variants in our range. We remain focused on delivering advanced, sustainable, and high-performance electric mobility solutions that cater to the evolving needs of Indian consumers, while continuing to provide exceptional value through a strong ownership experience.”
Focus on advanced EV technologies
BYD said its passenger vehicle portfolio incorporates several proprietary technologies, including the Blade Battery, Cell-to-Body (CTB) architecture and Intelligence Torque Adaptation Control (iTAC), aimed at enhancing safety, vehicle dynamics and energy efficiency.
The company has also introduced its global Dual Mode Intelligent (DM-i) plug-in hybrid technology in India, marking its entry into the country’s hybrid passenger vehicle segment.
Its product portfolio spans premium electric SUVs, performance sedans and family-oriented MPVs, offering features such as spacious interiors, connected technologies and advanced safety systems.
Expanding retail footprint
BYD India continues to expand its retail presence with 48 showrooms across 40 cities, enabling broader access to its electric vehicle portfolio while strengthening customer service and delivery capabilities.
Globally, BYD has sold more than 16.5 million new energy vehicles (NEVs). The company said these vehicles have helped reduce over 144 billion kilograms of carbon dioxide emissions. BYD also noted that its Blade Battery technology has received recognition as the Best New EV Battery Technology, reinforcing its focus on battery innovation and safety.
