Renault India, the wholly owned subsidiary of French automaker Renault Group, has launched the new Kwid, introducing a refreshed design, a simplified variant lineup and revised pricing aimed at making first-time car ownership more accessible.

The updated hatchback is now available in two variants, Evolution and Climber, replacing the earlier multi-variant range to offer customers a simpler buying experience.

Priced from ₹4.52 lakh (ex-showroom), the new Kwid also comes with additional online benefits on the Climber variant, bringing its effective price to ₹4.99 lakh.

Targets first-time car buyers
Renault said the latest update is designed to cater to India’s growing base of first-time car buyers and two-wheeler owners looking to upgrade to an entry-level passenger vehicle.

Renault India, Vice President – Sales & Marketing, Francisco Hidalgo, said the Kwid has remained an important choice for first-time buyers since its launch.

“For millions of Indians, owning their first car remains an important milestone. With an increasingly aspirational middle class and a large base of two-wheeler owners looking to upgrade, first-time ownership continues to be a strong and enduring aspiration.”

He added that more than 4.5 lakh customers have chosen the Kwid since its debut in 2015, and the latest update builds on that legacy by making the offering “simpler, clearer and more relevant.”

Refreshed design and new brand identity
The new Kwid debuts Renault’s latest brand identity while retaining its SUV-inspired styling that has helped differentiate it in the entry-level hatchback segment.

The company said the refreshed model offers a more intuitive ownership experience through a streamlined product range and modern design updates.

The vehicle is available across Renault dealerships nationwide as well as through the company’s online sales platform.

The Climber variant also features exclusive exterior styling accents, dual-tone interiors, wheel arch cladding and rugged SUV-inspired design elements.

Focus on value
Since its introduction in 2015, the Kwid has helped redefine the entry hatchback segment with its SUV-inspired design and feature-rich package.

With the latest update, Renault is focusing on making the product lineup easier to understand while strengthening its value proposition in India’s highly competitive entry-level car market.
