CW Bureau ·

Nissan Motor India has launched the all-new Tekton premium C-SUV in India at an introductory price starting from ₹10.49 lakh for the T160 range and ₹14.99 lakh for the T280 range, reinforcing its strategy to expand its SUV portfolio while positioning India as a global manufacturing hub.

Manufactured at Nissan’s Chennai plant, the Tekton made its world premiere in India and has been developed under the company’s ‘One Car, One World’ philosophy. Besides serving domestic customers, the SUV will be exported to multiple international markets.

Turbocharged power across the range
The Tekton is the only model in its segment to offer a 100% turbocharged engine lineup across all variants, according to the company.

The T280 variant delivers 280 Nm of torque, while the SUV also comes equipped with Google built-in connectivity and a 700-litre boot, which Nissan claims is among the largest in the segment.

The company has positioned the Tekton as a blend of performance, technology and practicality, targeting buyers in India’s fast-growing premium C-SUV segment.

Inspired by the Nissan Patrol
Drawing design inspiration from the iconic Nissan Patrol, the Tekton features a muscular SUV stance with sculpted body lines, wide wheel arches, aero-tuned spoilers and flush roof rails.

Other highlights include a full-width chrome grille, double-C contrast skid plate and signature C-shaped five-chamber LED connecting headlamps, giving the SUV a distinctive road presence.

Inside, the cabin has been designed to combine premium materials, intuitive technology and practical features aimed at modern family buyers.

India at the centre of Nissan’s strategy
The launch underscores Nissan’s growing focus on India as both a key domestic market and an export base. The company said the Chennai manufacturing facility will produce the Tekton for customers in India as well as several overseas markets, strengthening the country’s role in Nissan’s global product and manufacturing strategy.

Bookings for the new SUV are now open across Nissan dealerships and digital platforms in India.

Leadership commentary
Nissan Chief Performance Officer Guillaume Cartier said the launch of the Tekton reflects the company’s ambition to build a stronger and more competitive SUV portfolio by combining global product capabilities with local market relevance.

Nissan Chairperson, AMIEO Region Massimiliano Messina said India is becoming an increasingly important growth engine for Nissan, with the Tekton showcasing the company’s “One Car, One World” approach through local engineering, manufacturing and exports.
