ITC Hotels Ltd has outlined an ambitious expansion roadmap, targeting an operational portfolio of 250 hotels with over 22,000 keys by 2031, as it strengthens focus on its asset-right business model driven by management contracts, partnerships and operational efficiency.
The hospitality company said future growth will be led primarily through management contracts and strategic partnerships across high-growth markets, enabling faster expansion while maintaining capital efficiency and long-term profitability, according to Annual Report 2026.
Asset-right strategy to drive expansion
ITC Hotels said its expansion strategy will continue to balance owned, managed, franchised and leased properties, with an operational mix of 33% owned hotels and 67% managed properties by 2031.
The company said ongoing investments in process improvements, digital transformation and operational efficiencies will support sustained margin resilience and consistent financial performance.
Portfolio crosses 150 hotels
From opening its first hotel in 1975, ITC Hotels has grown into one of India’s leading hospitality companies with a portfolio of more than 150 hotels across 95-plus destinations in India, Sri Lanka and Nepal.
The portfolio now comprises over 14,200 keys across seven distinct brands catering to luxury, upscale, boutique, heritage and mid-market segments.
The company said its growth has been guided by its ‘Responsible Luxury’ philosophy, combining premium hospitality with sustainability, resource efficiency and long-term stakeholder value creation.
Seven brands across market segments
ITC Hotels currently operates through seven hospitality brands designed to address diverse traveller preferences.
The portfolio includes ITC Hotels and Mementos in the luxury category, Welcomhotel in the upper upscale segment, Storii in the boutique hospitality space, Fortune Hotels and WelcomHeritage in the upscale and heritage categories, and the recently launched Epiq Collection, an upper-upscale brand targeting larger hotels with enhanced services and contemporary dining experiences.
Food and beverage remains a key differentiator
The company said its food and beverage business continues to remain a significant competitive advantage, supported by iconic restaurant brands including Bukhara, Dum Pukht, Royal Vega, Avartana, Peshawri, Yi Jing, Ottimo and Pavilion.
These brands have been built around culinary expertise, authentic Indian flavours, responsible sourcing and consistent service standards.
Sustainability at the core of growth
Looking ahead, ITC Hotels said sustainability will remain central to its long-term strategy.
During FY26, the company strengthened its environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives and reaffirmed its commitment towards achieving its 2030 Sustainability Goals.
The focus areas include expanding renewable energy adoption, advancing net-zero and water-positive initiatives, strengthening ESG governance and enhancing resilience across climate, safety and supply chain operations.
The company said it will continue embedding sustainability into guest experiences, hotel operations and asset management, reinforcing Responsible Luxury as a long-term competitive advantage.
Five decades of hospitality
Marking over five decades in the hospitality industry, ITC Hotels said its growth journey reflects sustained investments in operational excellence, service quality, culinary innovation and environmental stewardship.
The company believes India’s expanding travel and tourism market, coupled with its diversified brand architecture and asset-light expansion strategy, positions it well to capture future growth opportunities across metropolitan cities, emerging business hubs and leisure destinations.
