Dalmia Bharat Ltd (DBL) has laid the foundation stone for its second cement manufacturing unit in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, with an investment of ₹3,100 crore, further strengthening its manufacturing footprint in southern India.
The foundation stone was laid in the presence of Nara Lokesh, Andhra Pradesh minister for information technology, electronics & communications, real time governance and human resources development, and Puneet Dalmia, Managing Director & CEO of Dalmia Bharat Ltd.
The project, announced by the company in 2025, will establish a next-generation integrated cement manufacturing facility designed to produce one of the world’s greenest cements.
Largest integrated unit in southern India
Scheduled to be commissioned in the third quarter of FY28, the Kadapa facility will become Dalmia Bharat’s largest integrated manufacturing unit in southern India.
The plant will have a clinker capacity of 6.1 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) and a cement manufacturing capacity of 9.6 MTPA.
The project is expected to generate around 1,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities, while also creating business opportunities for local MSMEs, transporters, contractors and service providers.
