Spice Lounge Food Works Ltd has secured the exclusive Master Franchise rights for Wing Zone, the internationally recognised American quick service restaurant (QSR) chain, marking its entry into India’s fast-growing premium chicken QSR segment.
The partnership gives Spice Lounge Food Works exclusive responsibility for developing the Wing Zone brand in India, managing restaurant operations, overseeing brand management and driving nationwide expansion across major cities.
The acquisition strengthens the company’s strategy of building a diversified multi-brand QSR platform by adding another globally recognised food brand to its portfolio.
India rollout begins
Wing Zone, founded in the United States over 30 years ago, has built a global presence with its flavour-focused chicken menu, signature sauces and premium-quality offerings.
The brand made its India debut with the opening of its first outlet in Koramangala, Bengaluru, in May 2026. The location was selected because of its vibrant food ecosystem, high concentration of young professionals and students, strong QSR culture, and robust food delivery demand.
Spice Lounge plans to open its second outlet in Anjanapura, Bengaluru, before expanding further across the city.
Expansion strategy
The company has outlined a phased expansion strategy for the American chicken brand.
The first phase focuses on strengthening Wing Zone’s presence in Bengaluru through flagship restaurants. The second phase will add more outlets across the city, while the third phase will take the brand to Hyderabad, Chennai and other major metropolitan markets.
Alongside dine-in restaurants, the company also plans to leverage cloud kitchens to accelerate expansion and improve market reach.
Riding India’s premium QSR growth
Spice Lounge Food Works believes the timing is ideal for introducing Wing Zone to India, citing rising demand for premium chicken QSR brands, growing consumer preference for international food experiences, increasing urbanisation, higher disposable incomes and the rapid expansion of food delivery platforms.
The company expects the combination of Wing Zone’s internationally popular menu and Spice Lounge’s operational expertise to create a scalable business model capable of delivering long-term growth.
Significant milestone
Spice Lounge Food Works Chairperson & Director Mohan Babu Karjela said the partnership represents a significant milestone in the company’s long-term strategy.
“This partnership marks an important milestone in our long-term growth strategy and reinforces our commitment to building a diversified, multi-brand food services platform in India,” he said.
The company aims to position Wing Zone as India’s leading flavour-forward chicken brand by combining flagship restaurants with cloud kitchens to ensure accessibility, scalability and sustainable nationwide growth.
