HMIL Opens 30,000 Charging Points To Access Through myHyundai App

CW Bureau ·

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) has expanded its electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem by integrating access to more than 30,000 EV charging points across India through its myHyundai app, creating one of the country’s largest charging networks accessible through a single digital platform.

The charging network has been developed in partnership with multiple Charge Point Operators (CPOs) and service providers, and is open to EV owners across all brands, marking a significant step towards improving charging accessibility and supporting wider EV adoption in India.

Charging network to expand further
Hyundai Motor India Ltd MD & CEO Tarun Garg said charging infrastructure remains one of the most critical enablers of electric mobility in the country.

“With charging infrastructure being a key catalyst for EV adoption in India, HMIL is committed to creating an ecosystem that makes electric mobility practical, convenient and accessible to all. Through the integration of over 30,000 charging points on the myHyundai app, we are empowering EV users with one of India’s largest charging networks accessible through a single platform,” Garg said.

He added that the platform’s availability for EV owners across brands reflects HMIL’s commitment to strengthening India’s overall EV ecosystem.

The company also plans to more than triple its proprietary DC fast public charging network from 183 stations currently operational across 105 cities to 600 stations by 2030, covering major cities, highways and Hyundai dealerships.

Nationwide charging access
According to HMIL, the myHyundai app enables users to locate charging stations, navigate to them, book charging slots in advance and make digital payments through a unified interface.

The platform provides access to charging facilities within an average radius of 25 km across the country, including major highway corridors such as Delhi-Gurgaon-Jaipur, Mumbai-Pune-Bengaluru, Mumbai-Ratnagiri-Goa, Chennai-Vellore-Bengaluru and Hyderabad-Kurnool-Bengaluru.

The company said its own charging stations are strategically located near restaurants and food outlets, allowing EV users to utilise charging time for refreshments during long-distance travel.

Supporting EV adoption
HMIL said more than 3 lakh EV users have utilised its charging infrastructure through the myHyundai app since January 2023, with its network delivering over 50 lakh kWh of electricity.

The company added that the charging ecosystem has helped avoid nearly 3.5 million kg of CO₂ emissions, supporting cleaner mobility and reducing transport-related carbon emissions.

HMIL currently offers DC fast-charging solutions ranging from 60 kW to 240 kW, catering to the growing requirements of India’s EV market.

Mass-market EV planned
As part of its broader electrification strategy, Hyundai Motor India plans to enter the mass-market electric vehicle segment by launching a new SUV EV during the current financial year.

The company believes expanding charging infrastructure alongside new product launches will play a crucial role in accelerating EV adoption and making long-distance electric travel more convenient across India.
