Kia Brings Syros EV From ₹13.49 Lakh With Industry-First Ownership Perks

CW Bureau ·

Kia India has unveiled the Syros EV, its second mass-market electric vehicle manufactured in India, at an introductory price of ₹13.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 42 kWh variant and ₹16.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 51.4 kWh Extended Range variant.

The electric SUV, which will go on sale from July 30, combines a segment-leading driving range, advanced technology and an industry-first ownership package aimed at making EV adoption more affordable and hassle-free.

Focus on affordability and ownership confidence
Kia is offering the Syros EV with an Assured Buyback programme, Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) financing model and a lifetime high-voltage battery warranty, addressing three of the biggest concerns among prospective EV buyers—high upfront costs, battery life and resale value.

Under the BaaS model, customers can finance the vehicle and battery separately, reducing the initial ownership cost to ₹7.99 lakh, while battery usage is charged at ₹3.3 per kilometre.

The company is also promising an assured buyback value of up to 80% after three years, which it claims is the highest guaranteed resale value offered for any vehicle in India.

Over 500 km driving range
The Syros EV is available with two battery options. The larger 51.4 kWh battery delivers an ARAI-certified range of 526 km, becoming the first vehicle in its segment to cross the 500-km mark, while the 42 kWh battery offers a certified range of 443 km.

Powered by a 171 PS electric motor, the SUV accelerates from 0-100 kmph in 8.1 seconds and supports 100 kW DC fast charging, enabling the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in just 39 minutes.

The EV also features regenerative braking with i-Pedal, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), battery conditioning and shift-by-wire technology.

Expanding EV ecosystem
Kia said the Syros EV will be supported by its K-Charge ecosystem, which integrates access to over 20,300 public charging points across 23 charging network operators through a single platform.

The company has also established 129 dealerships with DC fast chargers, over 275 EV-ready workshops, and a service network of more than 900 customer touchpoints across 400 cities.

Premium features and advanced safety
The Syros EV comes equipped with a 30-inch Trinity panoramic display, Kia Connect 2.0 with over 95 connected features, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Harman Kardon premium audio system, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats and a 16-litre front trunk.

On the safety front, the SUV offers Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) with 16 autonomous driving functions, along with six airbags, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, tyre pressure monitoring system, 360-degree camera and parking assistance features.

Designed to accelerate EV adoption
Kia India Managing Director & CEO Gwanggu Lee said the Syros EV has been developed to make electric mobility more accessible without compromising on performance or ownership experience.

“Beyond an attractive price point, we’ve built one of the industry’s most confident ownership propositions with an Assured Buyback programme offering up to 80% resale value, Battery-as-a-Service and a Lifetime Battery Warranty. Combined with a segment-leading range of 526 km, advanced technology and Kia’s growing EV ecosystem, the Syros EV reflects our commitment to accelerating India’s transition towards sustainable mobility while keeping customer needs at the heart of every decision,” he said.
