Engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company Nuberg EPC has strengthened its international order book by executing a chlorine absorption system project for Colombian chemical manufacturer Brinsa S.A., reinforcing its growing presence in the Latin American chemicals market.
The company has completed the design and supply of a 100-150 tonnes per day (TPD) Emergency Chlorine Absorption System for Brinsa’s facility in Bogotá. Built using Nuberg’s proprietary sodium hypochlorite (Hypo) technology, the project is scheduled to be commissioned in October 2026.
The order highlights the increasing global demand for advanced chlorine handling and processing technologies as chemical companies tighten safety standards and environmental compliance across manufacturing operations.
Turnkey execution
Nuberg EPC said the project covers the entire engineering and execution cycle, including design, detailed engineering, equipment supply, supervision of erection and installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning and performance guarantee.
The company has already completed the supply of the system, demonstrating its ability to execute international projects within committed timelines.
The emergency chlorine absorption system is designed to safely absorb and convert chlorine gas into sodium hypochlorite, helping improve plant safety, optimise operations and minimise environmental risks.
Strengthening global chemicals portfolio
The project adds to Nuberg EPC’s growing portfolio in the chlor-alkali and downstream chemicals segment, where the company offers technologies covering chlorine handling, sodium hypochlorite, hydrochloric acid, bleaching chemicals and related chemical processes.
With more than three decades of engineering experience, the company has executed over 75 greenfield projects across more than 30 countries, serving industries ranging from chlor-alkali and downstream chemicals to green hydrogen.
The latest order also reinforces Nuberg’s strategy of expanding its presence across emerging international markets, including Latin America, the Middle East, Africa and South Asia.
Strategic market expansion
Nuberg Group of Industries Chairman & Managing Director A.K. Tyagi said the Brinsa project strengthens the company’s strategy of expanding its global chemical processing portfolio.
He said Nuberg’s integrated engineering capabilities and technology-driven approach continue to create opportunities in international markets, particularly in Latin America, where demand for advanced process technologies is growing.
