Battery-swapping solutions provider Indofast Energy has partnered with charge point operator Zeon Charging to expand its battery-swapping infrastructure across premium commercial and transit locations in Southern India, beginning with Bengaluru.
Under the partnership, Indofast Energy will deploy its Quick Interchange Stations (QIS) across Zeon Charging’s network of premium sites, including shopping malls, metro parking facilities and commercial hubs in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and other key markets.
The collaboration has commenced with the deployment of six Quick Interchange Stations across two locations in Bengaluru, including Orion Mall, Rajajinagar, one of the city’s busiest retail and commercial destinations. The companies are also evaluating plans to add another five to six swapping stations at the mall as demand grows.
Expanding network density
The partnership forms part of Indofast Energy’s strategy to deepen its presence in Southern India, where it already operates a significant network. Bengaluru alone accounts for more than 450 battery-swapping stations in the company’s portfolio.
By leveraging Zeon Charging’s network of high-footfall locations, Indofast Energy aims to provide EV users, particularly delivery riders and commercial fleet operators, with convenient access to battery swapping at strategically located sites.
The company said its battery-swapping technology enables riders to replace depleted batteries in about two minutes, minimising downtime and improving vehicle utilisation.
Focus on urban mobility
According to Indofast Energy, the partnership combines premium locations with existing power infrastructure, enabling faster deployment while improving accessibility for electric two- and three-wheelers operating in urban mobility corridors.
“Our collaboration with Zeon Charging enables us to bring battery swapping to some of the most accessible and high-visibility locations across Southern India,” said Indofast Energy Interim CEO Subhash Bhat. “By partnering with an established charge point operator, we are accelerating our network expansion into power-ready, strategically positioned locations. This is a natural extension of our mission to make battery swapping accessible wherever riders need energy,” he added.
Strengthening EV infrastructure
For Zeon Charging, the partnership expands its role beyond conventional EV charging by integrating battery-swapping services into its infrastructure network.
Zeon Charging CTO & Director Akhil Venkateshwaran said the collaboration would help cater to both conventional charging users and the rapidly growing battery-swapping segment.

Growing clean mobility footprint
Indofast Energy currently operates 1,900 battery swap stations across 24 cities, supporting more than 120,000 electric vehicles.
The company said its network has enabled over 2 billion kilometres of clean mobility while helping avoid more than 97,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions, underscoring the growing role of battery swapping in India’s electric mobility ecosystem.
