HCLTech has been named in TIME’s World’s Most Sustainable Companies 2026 list for the second consecutive year, emerging as the highest-ranked India-headquartered company among global professional services firms.
The technology major also featured among the top five global professional services companies in the annual sustainability ranking, which is compiled by TIME in collaboration with Statista.
The ranking evaluated more than 5,800 companies worldwide across over 20 sustainability indicators covering corporate commitments, environmental and social stewardship, reporting standards, transparency and sustainability ratings.
Sustainability milestones
HCLTech said the recognition reflects its continued efforts to align its sustainability strategy with the UN Global Compact and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
During FY26, the company achieved several key sustainability milestones, including replenishing 51 times more water than it consumed. It also retained zero waste-to-landfill platinum certification across all its owned facilities.
The company further accelerated its climate goals by achieving its Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)-validated 2030 emissions reduction target four years ahead of schedule, reinforcing its commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2040.
Driving long-term impact
HCLTech Global Head of Sustainability Vipul Arora said the recognition underscores the company’s commitment to integrating sustainability into its business strategy.
“Being recognized by TIME for a second consecutive year reflects the progress we are making in embedding sustainability deeper into the core of our business and advancing our net-zero ambition for 2040. Our focus remains on scaling impact through innovation, partnerships and responsible practices that enable long-term value for our clients, communities and the broader ecosystem,” he said.
The recognition adds to HCLTech’s growing portfolio of global sustainability achievements as enterprises increasingly prioritise environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance alongside business growth.
