Zen Technologies Bets Big On DAP 2026 To Boost Defence Order Pipeline

CW Bureau ·

Defence technology company Zen Technologies Ltd expects India’s evolving defence procurement framework and continued push for indigenisation to accelerate order inflows, while reiterating its guidance of achieving a cumulative turnover of ₹4,000 crore across FY27 and FY28.

In his message to shareholders in the company’s Annual Report 2026, Chairman and Managing Director Ashok Atluri said the global defence landscape is undergoing a structural transformation, creating significant opportunities for Indian companies with strong indigenous technology and intellectual property.

He said the proposed Defence Acquisition Procedure (DAP) 2026 is expected to substantially compress procurement timelines and create fresh growth opportunities for domestic defence manufacturers that have built genuine indigenous capabilities.

“We expect order wins to begin flowing through in the near term,” Atluri said, highlighting the favourable policy environment for Indian defence technology firms.

Strong order book, healthy balance sheet
Zen Technologies ended FY26 with a consolidated order book of ₹1,336.04 crore, including ₹431.36 crore worth of new orders secured during the fourth quarter. The company’s standalone order book stood at ₹1,222.6 crore.

According to the company, the bulk of these orders is scheduled for execution from FY27, with nearly ₹1,000 crore expected to be recognised as revenue during the financial year.

The company also maintained a robust financial position, ending the year with cash and bank balances of ₹1,308 crore while remaining debt free.

Expands indigenous defence product portfolio
Zen Technologies expanded its defence technology portfolio during the year with the launch of several indigenous platforms targeting emerging battlefield requirements.

Among the new products is Vrishabh, an unmanned ground vehicle capable of carrying a 150-kg payload over distances of up to 100 km for combat support, logistics and casualty evacuation. The platform has more than 85% indigenous content, underscoring the company’s focus on self-reliance.

The company also introduced Hyperstrike, a loitering strike platform designed as a cost-effective solution against expensive interceptor systems. The platform can achieve speeds of up to 400 kmph and offers a five-minute loiter-and-strike capability.

In collaboration with its associate AI Turing, Zen Technologies also unveiled a 30-mm programmable ammunition system and a compact gun-and-missile system for naval applications.

Atluri said these products address critical capability gaps highlighted by changing operational requirements.

Subsidiaries drive growth
The company also highlighted the growing contribution of its subsidiaries and associate companies, including Applied Research International, Vector Technics, Bhairav Robotics and AI Turing, which supported consolidated revenue and earnings during the year.

Atluri said Zen Technologies has evolved into a platform for indigenous defence technology by bringing together specialised companies and enabling them to address India’s defence requirements through innovation and advanced technologies.
