Hyderabad-based Amgen has announced plans to establish a new Science and Innovation Centre at Genome Valley in Hyderabad.
The centre will become part of Amgen’s global Research and Development network, which comprises seven research laboratories. It will expand the company’s scientific and research capabilities in India.
Centre to focus on advanced research
The new facility will combine advanced scientific capabilities with data and digital technologies to accelerate the discovery and development of medicines for patients globally.
“The new centre in Genome Valley expands the way we integrate experimental science with data and technology across our global research capabilities and complements our strong U.S.-based Research and Development footprint,” said Amgen MD Jay Bradner.
Operational in 2027
The centre is expected to become operational in 2027. It will bring together scientists and technologists working across discovery chemistry, drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics, and precision medicine.
India strengthens global R&D network
“This new centre reflects Amgen’s commitment to advancing scientific excellence, and India will be an important part of our global R&D network,” said Amgen, Senior Vice President, Global Business Solutions and National Executive Som Chattopadhyay.
The Hyderabad centre will also support scientific collaboration and Amgen’s participation in the local innovation ecosystem.

The investment further strengthens Amgen’s presence in India and expands its global research capabilities through Hyderabad’s established life sciences and technology ecosystem.
