Leading public sector lender Indian Bank has distributed sanction letters aggregating ₹1,220 crore across the Retail, Agriculture and MSME sectors at a Mega Disbursement and Customer Outreach Camp held in Mumbai for the Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa regions.

The camp was organised as part of the bank’s 120th Foundation Day fortnight celebrations. Binod Kumar, MD & CEO, Indian Bank, inaugurated the programme and handed over sanction letters to beneficiaries.

The MSME segment accounted for ₹615 crore of the total sanctions, highlighting the bank’s focus on supporting entrepreneurs and strengthening the MSME ecosystem.

Focus on RAM segments
Indian Bank MD & CEO Binod Kumar said timely and adequate access to credit was critical to enabling individuals, farmers and entrepreneurs to realise their aspirations.

“Indian Bank remains committed to delivering superior customer service while driving transformative initiatives across the RAM segments,” he said.

He added that retail, agriculture and MSME segments are key drivers of employment generation, entrepreneurship and inclusive economic growth, and the bank would continue to strengthen its efforts to provide customer-centric financial solutions.

The initiative is part of Indian Bank’s strategy to strengthen its presence across the Retail, Agriculture and MSME (RAM) segments by expanding access to credit and supporting the financial aspirations of individuals, farmers and entrepreneurs.

CSR initiatives
As part of its ongoing Foundation Day celebrations, Indian Bank has also undertaken various CSR initiatives across the country.

In Mumbai, the bank donated computers, laptops and essential infrastructure items to Victoria Memorial School for the Blind.

At Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), financial assistance was provided towards the development of sports activities. The assistance was handed over by Executive Director Mini T.M. at a function held in Cochin.

The initiatives form part of Indian Bank’s wider Foundation Day programme aimed at combining business growth with financial inclusion and community development.
