JSW MG Motor India Teases 7-Seater New Electric SUV, Pre-Bookings Open

JSW MG Motor India has teased its first product based on the company’s ADAPT platform, ahead of its India debut on August 26.

Drawing inspiration from one of the most iconic Allied fighter aircraft of World War II, the upcoming vehicle will be offered as a 7-seater electric SUV, expanding the company’s new energy vehicle (NEV) portfolio in India.

The carmaker has also opened pre-reservations for the upcoming electric SUV. Interested customers can reserve the vehicle by visiting MG Motor India and paying ₹21,000.

Teaser hints at bold design
The teaser released by JSW MG Motor India reveals select design elements of the upcoming SUV while keeping its overall form under wraps.

The initial glimpse points to a bold and distinctive design character, building anticipation ahead of the official unveiling and launch.

The new 7-seater electric SUV will be the first model from JSW MG Motor India built on the ADAPT platform. The company said the vehicle is aimed at further strengthening its focus on progressive design, advanced technologies and differentiated mobility experiences for Indian customers.

Expanding electric vehicle portfolio
The upcoming model will add a larger 7-seater electric SUV to JSW MG Motor India’s NEV portfolio at a time when demand for electric vehicles is broadening beyond compact and premium urban models.

The company is expected to reveal further details about the vehicle, including its specifications, features, battery and performance, closer to the August 26 debut.

JSW-SMG partnership
JSW MG Motor India was formed in 2023 as a joint venture between SAIC Motor, a global automotive company with operations in more than 100 countries, and JSW Group, an Indian conglomerate with interests across B2B and B2C sectors.

The joint venture aims to develop a smart and sustainable automotive ecosystem in India, with a focus on expanding access to advanced automotive technologies and futuristic products.

The company is also focused on strengthening India’s manufacturing ecosystem through localisation, innovation and employment generation.

The new 7-seater electric SUV marks another step in JSW MG Motor India’s strategy to expand its electric vehicle portfolio and bring differentiated products to the Indian market.
