Funskool Gets PAW Patrol Licence From Spin Master For Indian Market

Funskool India Ltd has secured the licence to manufacture and distribute PAW Patrol collectible toys in India, expanding its portfolio of globally recognised entertainment brands and strengthening its presence in the character-led toy segment.

The company has obtained the licence from Spin Master, the Toronto-headquartered Canadian toy and entertainment company behind the popular PAW Patrol franchise.

Under the partnership, Funskool will manufacture and distribute PAW Patrol merchandise and collectible toys across India’s traditional mom-and-pop retail stores as well as major online platforms.

Strengthening licensed portfolio
The addition of PAW Patrol marks another step in Funskool’s strategy of expanding its licensed product portfolio through partnerships with established global entertainment properties.

The franchise’s addition gives Funskool access to a widely recognised character-led property while enabling Spin Master to leverage the Indian company’s domestic manufacturing capabilities and distribution network.

Funskool India, CEO, K A Shabir, said the collaboration reflects the company’s focus on bringing globally popular brands and characters to Indian children and families.

“With our strong distribution network and deep understanding of the Indian toy market, we look forward to making PAW Patrol collectibles more accessible to young fans across the country and creating opportunities for imaginative play, ” he added.

Offline and online reach
The PAW Patrol collectible range will be made available through mom-and-pop stores and major e-commerce platforms, combining Funskool’s established offline distribution network with the growing reach of online shopping.

The dual-channel strategy could help the products reach a wider consumer base, including families in markets beyond major cities.

For Funskool, the partnership also strengthens its presence in the collectibles segment, where character recognition and franchise popularity can influence purchase decisions among children and families.

Global franchise, local distribution
The PAW Patrol franchise adds another globally recognised property to Funskool’s licensed portfolio and broadens the range of character-led products available through its distribution network.

The company expects the partnership to create more opportunities for Indian consumers to access merchandise linked to international entertainment franchises, while expanding the role of licensed characters in everyday play and collecting.

The move also underscores the growing importance of licensing partnerships in India’s toy market, as manufacturers seek to combine established global intellectual properties with local manufacturing, distribution and market knowledge.
