Swiggy Enhances Leadership Bench Across Food Marketplace, Instamart

CW Bureau ·

Swiggy has expanded the leadership mandates of three senior executives across its Instamart and Food Marketplace businesses, as the company looks to sharpen execution and support the next phase of growth across its core businesses.

Himavant Kurnala has been appointed Chief Growth and Product Officer,  Instamart, Nitesh Garg has been appointed Chief Technology Officer,  Instamart, while Saurav Goyal has been appointed Chief Operating Officer, Food Marketplace.

The appointments strengthen the leadership bench at a time when Swiggy is scaling its quick-commerce business while seeking stronger growth and operating efficiency across its food delivery marketplace.

Swiggy CHRO Girish Menon said the expanded mandates reflected the company’s focus on developing internal talent and giving experienced leaders larger responsibilities.

“Swiggy has always believed that robust leadership comes from investing in our talent, grooming them and giving them a larger canvas to express. Himavant, Nitesh and Saurav exemplify this- each has moved across varied charters and been instrumental in scaling our businesses. Their expanded roles recognise what they have built, and, more importantly, offer an opportunity to take on larger challenges and shape what’s next for Swiggy,” said Menon.

Kurnala gets wider Instamart growth mandate
Kurnala, who has led Instamart’s Product charter since 2024, subsequently expanded his responsibilities to include Growth and Brand Marketing.

He has driven the quick-commerce business towards an AI-native product and operating model, bringing Product, Design, Analytics and Trust & Safety together under a single organisation.

His initiatives have included Maxxsaver, multi-pod delivery, the standalone Instamart app, AI-powered search and personalisation, merchandising and pricing, as well as brand portal monetisation and supply-chain efficiencies.

His expanded role will bring growth, marketing, analytics and product together, with the objective of deepening customer value and improving the economics of customer acquisition and engagement.

Garg to lead Instamart technology
Garg, who has spent more than seven years at Swiggy, most recently led engineering for Instamart and New Initiatives as Senior Vice President.

He has been involved with Instamart’s technology architecture since its inception, building its consumer-facing technology stack and supply-chain systems. He has also developed platforms covering advertising, pricing, discounting and catalogue management that are now used across Instamart, Food Marketplace and other Swiggy businesses.

As CTO,  Instamart, Garg will focus on technology innovation, engineering capabilities, operational reliability and the adoption of AI to support the next phase of the quick-commerce business.

Goyal takes charge of Food Marketplace operations
Goyal has held multiple leadership roles at Swiggy since joining the company in 2020, covering Business Finance for Food and Instamart, as well as Driver and Delivery Product and Operations.

His responsibilities have included strategic planning, operating leverage, profitability and initiatives linked to Swiggy’s IPO journey.

Under his leadership, Food Marketplace delivered its strongest growth quarter in early 2026, while the delivery network remained focused on reliability, compliance and utilisation.

Goyal also led the rollout of the shared-network Toing service, which is now operational across more than 50 cities, and helped integrate Operations, Product, Analytics and Marketing into a unified Driver & Delivery organisation.

In his expanded role as COO – Food Marketplace, Goyal will continue to oversee Driver and Delivery while taking on responsibility for Food Customer Experience, with a focus on execution and operating discipline.

Broader leadership reshuffle
The latest appointments follow a series of leadership changes across Swiggy’s businesses.

Nandita Sinha was recently appointed Chief Executive Officer of Instamart, while Gautam Swaroop took charge as Chief Business Officer, Instamart.

Earlier this year, Swapnil Bajpai was elevated to Chief Executive Officer of Swiggy’s Dineout and Scenes business.

Sidharth Bhakoo continues as Chief Business Officer, Swiggy Food Marketplace.

The widening of leadership mandates across the organisation highlights Swiggy’s focus on building deeper internal leadership capabilities as it operates across increasingly competitive food delivery, quick commerce and dining businesses.
