NPS Contribution By Zomato Delivery Partners Crosses ₹1 Cr, PRAN 2 Lakh

CW Bureau ·

Food ordering and delivery platform Zomato said the National Pension System (NPS) corpus built by its delivery partners has crossed ₹1 crore, with enrolments under the scheme surpassing 2 lakh Permanent Retirement Account Numbers (PRANs).

The milestone comes less than a year after Zomato launched the NPS Platform Workers Model in October 2025 in partnership with HDFC Pension and Kfintech.

Small contributions build retirement savings

The NPS e-shramik (Platform Service Partner) Model enables delivery partners to build long-term financial security through small, regular contributions.

The model also allows partners to retain and carry their benefits as they move between livelihoods. Onboarding is enabled through existing KYC or eKYC, with the partner’s consent.

Scheme aims to expand social security

“Crossing ₹1 crore in NPS contributions is an important milestone, made possible through small, regular contributions from delivery partners themselves. We hope our partnership with HDFC Pension encourages more delivery partners to plan and save for their future,” said Zomato CEO Aditya Mangla.

HDFC Pension MD & CEO Sriram Iyer said the milestone reflected the collective efforts of the industry, regulator and corporates in creating retirement savings avenues for platform workers.

Focus on portable retirement savings

“As India’s workforce becomes more dynamic, creating simple, portable and accessible pathways to retirement savings will be critical to making social security more inclusive,” said PFRDA Chief General Manager Sumit Kumar.

The NPS Platform Workers Model is designed to provide platform workers with a formal and structured route to retirement savings.
