BYD India, a subsidiary of BYD, the global No. 1 new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturer, has launched the BYD SEALION 7 Dynamic, expanding its flagship electric SUV portfolio with a new entry-level variant priced at ₹41.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
Powered by a 71.8 kWh Blade Battery, the SEALION 7 Dynamic offers a claimed range of 520 km (NEDC) and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.3 seconds.
The new variant is positioned as a more accessible entry point into BYD’s premium electric SUV range, combining performance, technology and everyday usability.
Three variants in SEALION 7 portfolio
With the introduction of the Dynamic, the SEALION 7 portfolio now comprises Dynamic, Premium and Performance variants, giving customers a wider choice based on their mobility requirements and preferences.
The Dynamic variant is available in four colours, Atlantis Grey, Cosmos Black, Aurora White and Shark Grey.
BYD India, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicle Business, Rajeev Chauhan, said the new variant has been introduced in response to strong customer interest in the existing SEALION 7 variants.
“The strategic expansion is a direct response to the tremendous success and overwhelming customer interest in the existing BYD SEALION 7 variants. With the introduction of the new SEALION 7 Dynamic, we are expanding the portfolio to cater to a more diverse customer base while offering increased options to potential buyers,” he said.
According to Chauhan, the Dynamic variant is aimed at strengthening the SEALION 7’s position in India’s premium EV segment by making BYD’s technology, safety standards and sustainable mobility solutions accessible to a wider customer base.
Blade Battery and advanced technology
The SEALION 7 range is available with a choice of 71.8 kWh and 82.56 kWh Blade Batteries. Built on BYD’s dedicated e-Platform 3.0, the electric SUV features an aerodynamic design inspired by the company’s Ocean Aesthetics design language.
The SEALION 7 Dynamic comes equipped with BYD’s Blade Battery and Cell-to-Body technology, along with Intelligence Torque Adaptation Control.
Other features include a panoramic glass roof, rotating touchscreen infotainment system and a comprehensive suite of safety and driver-assistance technologies.
Festive benefits
The launch comes alongside BYD India’s ongoing ‘Celebrate Your Dreams with BYD’ festive offer, introduced on August 1, 2026.
Customers purchasing the SEALION 7 Dynamic can avail themselves of a complimentary 7kW home charger with installation, a 10-year roadside assistance (RSA) coverage extension, and an extended warranty of 10 years on the LFP LV battery or 1.5 lakh km, whichever is earlier, under the offer.
Over 4,000 SEALION 7 units on Indian roads
Introduced in India in 2025, the BYD SEALION 7 has recorded strong customer demand, with more than 4,000 units currently in operation across India.
The eSUV has also received several industry accolades, including a 5-star safety rating from Euro NCAP. It was named Luxury Mid-size SUV of the Year at the ACKO Drive TOTM 2026, Premium EV of the Year at the car&bike Awards 2026 and Premium SUV of the Year at the TV9 Awards.
The SEALION 7 also won Best EV Design at the CarBike360 Auto Excellence Awards 2026.
BYD’s Blade Battery was recognised as the Best New EV Battery Technology at the CarBike360 Auto Excellence Awards 2026, while BYD was honoured as the Pioneer in Battery Technology by Jagran Hi-Tech.
The company was also ranked No. 91 on the 2026 Fortune Global 500, marking its fifth consecutive year on the global ranking.
