Zoomcar and Uber have partnered to make intercity road trip planning more flexible by bringing self-drive and chauffeur-driven travel options together on the Zoomcar app.
Under the partnership, travellers searching for self-drive vehicles on the Zoomcar platform will also be able to discover and book Uber Intercity rides on select routes. Users can compare self-drive options with chauffeur-driven cars and choose the mode that best fits their travel needs.
The integration is now live in Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR and Mumbai, with plans to expand to more cities.
Comparing travel options
The collaboration brings together two complementary mobility options for both one-way and round trips. Zoomcar users can opt for the flexibility of driving themselves or choose the convenience of travelling with an Uber Intercity driver.
The partnership is aimed at a growing segment of Indian travellers seeking greater flexibility, convenience and access to mobility services without the need to own a vehicle.

He said the partnership will allow Zoomcar users to make the choice without leaving the platform.
Uber Intercity expands reach
Uber said demand for intercity travel has been increasing across metropolitan and Tier-II markets, driven by weekend getaways, family visits and holidays.
“Uber Intercity has increasingly become the preferred choice for travel across cities, with demand growing across Tier-2 and metro markets alike. We’re also seeing more Indians choose road trips for weekend getaways, family visits and holidays,” said Uber India & South Asia, Director of Consumer & Growth, Rishant Ghosh.
He said the partnership with Zoomcar will make Uber Intercity accessible to more travellers while providing another option for convenient and comfortable outstation travel.
Access over ownership
The partnership reflects a broader shift towards access-based mobility, with consumers increasingly opting for flexible, on-demand transportation instead of vehicle ownership.
For one journey, a traveller may prefer the freedom of a self-drive vehicle, while another trip may call for the convenience of a chauffeur-driven ride. By bringing both options together, Zoomcar and Uber aim to give users greater choice in planning intercity travel.
The companies plan to expand the integration to additional cities over time, potentially widening access to both self-drive and chauffeur-driven road travel options.
