Dhaksha Unmanned Systems, a subsidiary of Coromandel International, has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility at Aymicheri in Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu, strengthening its capabilities in indigenous drone manufacturing for agriculture, defence and enterprise applications.
The facility was inaugurated by Arun Alagappan, Executive Chairman, Coromandel International Ltd, and is designed to support larger and more complex programmes across Dhaksha’s key unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) verticals.
Focus on indigenous drone manufacturing
The new facility will enable greater indigenisation of critical technologies while strengthening Dhaksha’s ability to respond to evolving customer requirements. It will integrate the company’s research and development and operational capabilities, creating a platform for greater collaboration across the drone value chain.
Dhaksha also plans to expand its sourcing and service ecosystem, including its network of service centres, as it scales up operations.
The facility will support the company’s growing defence portfolio, including surveillance and logistics applications. A dedicated production line for defence applications is expected to strengthen execution capabilities and support efforts to develop greater control over critical technologies.
Two new agricultural drones
At the inauguration, Dhaksha unveiled two new agricultural drone models, the DH Agrigator E10 Prime and DH Agrigator E10 Eco.
Developed using indigenous components, the E10 Prime is aligned with the Namo Drone Didi programme and is aimed at supporting India’s expanding domestic agricultural drone ecosystem.
The E10 Eco is positioned as a more affordable solution designed to widen access to drone-based farming services among small and marginal farmers as well as rural entrepreneurs.
The new facility will also enable technology partners to combine complementary capabilities and accelerate the development of an integrated drone manufacturing ecosystem.
Expanding defence applications
Beyond agriculture, Dhaksha is strengthening its presence in defence applications, with the new facility supporting programmes in areas such as surveillance and logistics.
The company is also focusing on technology partnerships and greater indigenisation across its defence portfolio as India seeks to build domestic capabilities in advanced unmanned systems.

He said the new facility would integrate Dhaksha’s R&D and operational capabilities, enabling greater collaboration and agility while supporting the development of indigenous drone solutions.
Sankarasubramanian added that growing interest among farmers was influencing Dhaksha’s product development, with field-level feedback helping the company develop practical agricultural drone solutions.
In defence, the company is focused on advancing indigenisation and building technology partnerships across the ecosystem.
The expansion marks another step in Dhaksha’s efforts to build scale in India’s emerging UAV industry while supporting the broader Atmanirbhar Bharat objective through the development and manufacturing of indigenous drone technologies.
