Sigma Advanced Systems has secured a long-term contract worth nearly £125 million (approximately ₹1,600 crore) from Rolls-Royce through its recently acquired UK subsidiary, Bromford Precision Solutions, strengthening its position in the global aerospace supply chain.
The agreement comes shortly after Sigma secured a separate £300 million (approximately ₹3,800 crore) long-term agreement with Rolls-Royce. Together, the two contracts significantly expand Sigma’s product portfolio, manufacturing capabilities and participation across critical aerospace programmes.
Expanding aerospace capabilities
Under the latest agreement, Bromford will manufacture aero-engine rings, casings, lock plates and other critical engine structures across Sigma’s manufacturing facilities in India and the UK. The arrangement will provide Rolls-Royce with a more comprehensive dual-source manufacturing solution.
The Bromford acquisition adds complementary capabilities in aero-engine rings and casings, along with advanced precision manufacturing expertise. This enables Sigma to supply a wider portfolio of complex engine components to one of the world’s leading aerospace original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
The two agreements are expected to enhance long-term revenue visibility and deepen Sigma’s role in Rolls-Royce’s UK supply chain.
Acquisition delivers immediate value
The latest contract underlines the strategic rationale behind Sigma’s acquisition of Bromford. The UK company brings specialist manufacturing expertise, established OEM approvals and complementary product capabilities, allowing Sigma to expand its addressable market among existing customers.
The deal also supports Sigma’s strategy of moving towards higher-value, programme-level aerospace partnerships with longer-duration revenue opportunities.
Importantly, the agreement strengthens Bromford’s long-term future within the Sigma group. Its Leicester facility will continue to serve as a key UK manufacturing site, supporting skilled engineering and manufacturing jobs and contributing to the resilience of the UK’s aerospace manufacturing base.
Sigma Advanced Systems Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director Sunil Kalidindi, said the agreement demonstrated the growing capabilities of India’s precision engineering and defence-aerospace manufacturing ecosystem.
“Global OEMs like Rolls-Royce are increasingly looking to India not just for cost advantage, but for engineering depth, quality and scale,” Kalidindi said.
He added that combining Bromford’s specialist UK capabilities with Sigma’s integrated India manufacturing network would enable the group to offer a global dual-source solution.
Building a global aerospace platform
With Nasmyth and Bromford operating as complementary businesses within Sigma’s UK aerospace platform, the company is continuing to pursue targeted acquisitions to build scale, strengthen customer relationships and broaden its technical capabilities.
The latest Rolls-Royce contract further strengthens Sigma’s participation in high-value, long-duration aerospace programmes and highlights the potential for Indian aerospace manufacturers to expand their role in global OEM supply chains.
