Ola Electric has launched the S1Z, its new mass-market electric scooter range and the first scooter range in India to feature the company’s indigenously developed Bharat Cell LFP technology.
The S1Z brings Ola Electric’s 46-series LFP cell platform, developed at its Battery Innovation Centre and manufactured at the Ola Gigafactory, to its most accessible scooter range. The company said the product is aimed at India’s largest electric two-wheeler buying segment.
The S1Z is available in 3.1 kWh and 5.1 kWh variants, priced at an introductory ₹79,999 and ₹99,999, respectively, ex-showroom. The 3.1 kWh variant offers a range of up to 179 km, while the 5.1 kWh version can deliver up to 301 km, based on IDC conditions.
Bringing Bharat Cell to the mass market
Ola Electric said the S1Z represents the company’s strategy of building an integrated EV ecosystem, from battery cells to complete vehicles.
By developing and manufacturing its Bharat Cell LFP technology in-house, the company aims to reduce battery costs, which constitute one of the largest cost components of an electric vehicle. According to Ola Electric, this vertical integration allows next-generation LFP battery technology to be offered at mass-market price points.
The company said the use of LFP chemistry is intended to provide greater safety and longer battery life while maintaining affordability.

Technology and connected features
The S1Z runs on MoveOS 5 and comes with a range of software-enabled features, including cruise control, advanced regenerative braking, reverse mode, GPS and over-the-air software updates.
The scooter also offers geo, time and mode fencing, ride statistics and energy insights through the Ola Electric App, aimed at providing a connected and personalised ownership experience.
The S1Z range also features Ola Electric’s ‘Easy Park’ function, which is designed to help riders manoeuvre into and out of tight parking spaces with a twist of the wrist.
The S1Z will be offered in four colours — White, Anthracite, Sky Splash Blue and Matcha Green — and will ride on 12-inch wheels across both variants.
Deliveries from December
Deliveries of the 3.1 kWh S1Z are scheduled to begin in December 2026, while deliveries of the 5.1 kWh variant will commence from March 2027.
The S1Z is also set to play a role in Ola Electric’s next phase of retail expansion. The company said the range will be among the first products to ramp up through its dealer-operated stores, in addition to its existing company-owned retail network.
Ola Electric expects the dealer-led expansion to significantly increase access to its products across the country.
The company positions the S1Z around the proposition of delivering “more” or “Zyada”, more safety, range, technology and value, to customers in India’s mass-market electric mobility segment.
