Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, has entered a new phase of growth in El Salvador through a strategic alliance with VELOSA (Oriental Motors, S.A.), strengthening its distribution, retail and after-sales network in the Central American market.
The partnership brings together Hero MotoCorp’s global motorcycle portfolio and VELOSA’s regional automotive experience, distribution capabilities and local market expertise. The alliance is aimed at expanding customer reach while improving service coverage and overall ownership experience for Hero customers across El Salvador.
Flagship store opens in San Salvador
As part of the expansion, VELOSA has inaugurated a Hero flagship store on Calle El Progreso and added two retail outlets at Metrocentro San Salvador and Plaza Mundo Soyapango.
VELOSA has also begun establishing partnerships with dealers across the country. The network has started operations with more than 30 authorised dealers, bringing Hero’s sales, service and customer support infrastructure closer to customers.
The Calle El Progreso flagship store offers an integrated range of sales, after-sales and genuine-parts services. Similar integrated services are also available at Hero Merliot and Santa Ana, while the Metrocentro San Salvador and Plaza Mundo Soyapango outlets are focused on motorcycle sales.
50,000 customers served in 13 years
The alliance builds on Hero MotoCorp’s existing presence in El Salvador. The company said it has served nearly 50,000 customers in the country over the past 13 years, with models such as the Hunk and Xpulse helping establish the brand in the market.
The new partnership is expected to give Hero a stronger platform to expand its footprint while improving the availability of authorised service and genuine spare parts.
“El Salvador is a strategic market for Hero MotoCorp in Central America. Over the past 13 years, Hero has served nearly 50,000 customers in El Salvador, with iconic models such as Hunk and Xpulse, playing a key role in building the brand’s presence,” said Hero MotoCorp Executive Vice President – Global Business, Global Product Planning and Global Market Insights, Sanjay Bhan, “Through its new alliance with VELOSA, Hero is entering its next phase of growth, with a focus on enhancing the customer experience, expanding service coverage and strengthening end-to-end customer support,” Bhan added.
Focus on customer experience
VELOSA said its objective is to build on the trust that Hero has established among Salvadoran customers while improving service accessibility and customer proximity.
“We are delighted to begin this new chapter with Hero MotoCorp in El Salvador. VELOSA brings a strong regional automotive track record and a clear commitment to service, support and customer proximity,” said VELOSA Commercial Manager Carlos Landaverde.
“Our objective is to build on the trust Hero has earned over the years and provide a superior experience for existing and future Hero customers,” he added.
Five-year warranty
Hero MotoCorp is also strengthening its ownership proposition in the market. Customers purchasing models from its portfolio in El Salvador will receive a five-year or 60,000-km warranty, along with four free check-ups.
The enhanced warranty and service package is aimed at reinforcing the brand’s focus on reliability and customer satisfaction as it expands its presence.
The latest move forms part of Hero MotoCorp’s broader international growth strategy, with the company leveraging local partnerships to deepen market penetration, build distribution capabilities and establish stronger after-sales ecosystems across overseas markets.
