United Breweries Ltd (UBL), part of the Heineken Company, has commissioned a new canning line at its Ellora Brewery in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, with an investment of ₹110 crore.
The facility is expected to become operational in September 2026 and will strengthen UBL’s manufacturing footprint, brewery productivity and ability to meet growing demand.
40,000 cans an hour
The new line will be the first canning line at Ellora Brewery, with a capacity to produce 40,000 cans an hour.
The investment will also improve utilisation of the brewery’s existing packaging infrastructure, with current packaging capacity of up to 1.5 million cases a month.
Greater packaging flexibility
The additional capacity will allow UBL to optimise packaging formats based on market demand.
Initially, the Ellora facility will produce cans of Kingfisher Strong, Kingfisher Premium, Bullet Strong and London Pilsner for consumers in Maharashtra.
Focus on premiumisation
“The new canning line at Ellora Brewery strengthens our ability to respond to these evolving consumer needs, improves utilisation of our brewery infrastructure and enhances productivity,” United Breweries, MD & CEO, Vivek Gupta, said.
“As a category maker, we will continue to invest ahead of demand, strengthen our local manufacturing footprint and help shape the future of beer in India,” he said.
Expanding manufacturing footprint
The added canning capability will provide greater flexibility across UBL’s portfolio as demand evolves.
The investment also supports the company’s premiumisation strategy and follows the commissioning of a new canning line at UBL’s Nizam Brewery in Telangana in July 2026.
The latest investment underlines UBL’s continued focus on strengthening manufacturing capacity and productivity across India.
