eBikeGo, an EBG Group company, has announced plans to establish 50 integrated stores across India over the next 12 months, marking its entry into the country’s organised bicycle mobility retail and service sector.
The company plans to invest more than ₹35 crore to establish the store network, which will bring bicycle and electric-bicycle sales, rentals, servicing, spare parts and fleet mobility solutions together under a single retail model.
The initiative comes as bicycles and electric bicycles are increasingly being considered not only for fitness and leisure, but also for short-distance commuting, student mobility, last-mile travel and gig work. Affordability, operating costs, convenience and access to reliable servicing are emerging as important factors influencing adoption.
eBikeGo’s model is designed to address these requirements through neighbourhood stores that combine product access with rental and after-sales services.
50-store rollout
At network maturity, the programme is expected to support 300 direct jobs and create 500-700 indirect livelihood opportunities. The company projects more than 5 lakh annual customer interactions and over 1 lakh annual mobility transactions across sales, rentals and servicing.
EBG Group, Founder & Chairman, Dr. Irfan Khan, said the perception of electric bicycles in India is changing as consumers increasingly evaluate them as practical mobility solutions.
“The perception of an electric bicycle in India is changing. It is no longer being viewed only as a fitness or leisure product. For an office commuter, student or gig worker, the conversation is increasingly about cost per kilometre, convenience, reliability and access to service,” Khan said.
He added that an organised retail and service ecosystem can play an important role in improving the ownership experience.
“Our objective with eBikeGo Stores is to make electric and conventional bicycles more accessible while addressing the ownership experience beyond the point of sale,” Khan said.
The rollout will begin with pilot markets in Coimbatore, Hyderabad and Bengaluru, where eBikeGo will test and refine its operating model before expanding through a metro-first, cluster-based strategy.
The first 15 founding stores will establish the initial footprint, helping the company build operational density and strengthen product availability and after-sales capabilities before entering additional markets.
Integrated mobility model
Unlike conventional bicycle dealerships, eBikeGo Stores are designed as neighbourhood mobility hubs combining retail, rental, servicing and fleet support under one roof.
The stores will cater to a broad customer base, including children, students, working professionals, fitness enthusiasts, families, gig workers, delivery partners, businesses and institutional customers.
The stores will also be connected to store.ebikego.com, creating a common technology layer for transactions and customer support.
250W e-bike portfolio
At the centre of the offering is a portfolio of 250W electric-assist bicycles designed for commuting, foldable urban mobility, gig-work applications and premium recreational riding.
The planned range includes eBikeGo City, eBikeGo Flare, eBikeGo Flare Pro, eBikeGo Fold, eBikeGo Momentum and eBikeGo Horizon.
Across the lineup, the current product architecture includes assisted speeds of up to 25 km/h and an estimated range of 35-55 km, depending on the model and riding mode.
The products also feature removable batteries, Shimano gearing on select models and foldable designs.
Eyeing 1,500-store network
The company’s longer-term objective is to build a 1,500-store national mobility network through a capital-efficient, partner-led expansion model.
The strategy is aimed at making conventional bicycles and electric bicycles a practical component of everyday urban transportation while creating an integrated ecosystem covering product sales, rentals, servicing and commercial mobility applications.
eBikeGo is an EBG Group company operating in the mobility space. With a nine-year journey in the sector, the company focuses on accessible mobility solutions spanning electric bicycles, conventional bicycles, rentals, servicing and commercial mobility applications.
Through its integrated store strategy, eBikeGo aims to build an organised retail and service ecosystem connecting products, customers and mobility services across India.
