Moopen Family Ups Aster DM Stake To 24.58% With ₹350 Cr Purchase

Union (Mauritius) Holdings Ltd., owned and promoted by Dr. Azad Moopen and his family, has acquired 46.09 lakh equity shares of Aster DM Quality Care Ltd. from TPG-backed Centella Mauritius Holdings Ltd. for about ₹350.34 crore.

The shares, representing around 0.57% of Aster DM Quality Care’s paid-up equity share capital, were acquired on September 2 at ₹760 a share.

Promoter holding rises to 24.58%

Following the transaction, the Moopen family’s shareholding in Aster DM Quality Care has increased to 24.58%.

The acquisition strengthens the promoter family’s ownership in the Dr. Moopen-led healthcare company and signals its continued commitment to the company’s long-term growth.

The purchase also reflects the family’s confidence in the potential of the integrated healthcare platform and its ability to create sustainable long-term value for shareholders.

Four healthcare brands under one platform

Aster DM Quality Care is one of India’s leading integrated healthcare providers, formed through the merger of Aster DM Healthcare Ltd. and Quality Care India Ltd.

The combined entity brings together four healthcare brands — Aster DM, CARE Hospitals, Evercare and KIMSHEALTH — with a network of 39 hospitals across 28 cities and more than 10,890 beds.
